Oregonians for Science and Reason (O4SR) O4SR is a nonprofit corporation formed to promote science and reason. We seek to develop rational thought and action through the application of scientific methods and critical thinking. Activities Educate the public with outreach activities and free public lectures. Facilitate social contacts for members and host regular social gatherings. Publish an electronic/print newsletter and e-bulletin for members. Investigate testable pseudoscientific and paranormal claims. Serve as a skeptical scientific resource for local/regional media. Interact globally through e-mail and website contacts. Spread critical thinking skills and a science-based worldview. Benefits of Membership We welcome your help to continue O4SR's efforts to promote science and reason. We also can use your time and talents; some volunteer needs and suggestions are on the membership page. Annual membership with Oregonians for Science and Reason includes a subscription to our newsletter, Pro Facto. (Membership is on a calendar-year basis.) Memberships/donations are tax-deductible in accordance with IRS regulations. Lectures, gatherings, and other events are free and open to the public. Please join us.
